Breakfast, in my honest opinion, is not only the most important meal of the day it's also the most delicious! It's, by far, my favorite meal to make and of course to eat. Starting off your day with a healthy, filling breakfast is the easiest way to stay on track in your journey.
Smoothie:
I strongly recommend getting a Vitamix blender. Yes, they are pricey, but I could not live without mine. Or at least live as well as I do. It takes seconds to create a delicious, well blended, restaurant quality smoothie.
Most of my smoothies consist of the same things: First I put my plain greek yogurt, next I put my frozen fruit (organic, when possible), next I like to do 1/2 avocado - saving the other half for lunch - and filling to the top with spinach and/or kale. If I run out of avocado 1/4 cup of cashews does the trick too ---- both avocado and cashews will make the smoothie the perfect texture while adding a large amount of healthy fats. Don't be scared of the word "fat" be scared of the words "fat free". Turn on your vitamix and let it start to blend - I then add plain almond milk until it reaches the right consistency. Smoothies are so, SO awesome. You can add anything you have on hand and it's bound (in a vitamix) to turn out absolutely perfect!
Eggs:
I eat eggs every single day - sometimes multiple times a day - but if I don't have them for breakfast you can bet your bottom dollar I will have a couple for lunch. Eggs are awesome because they are so healthy - but you can make them even better by throwing in spinach, broccoli, onion, carrots, jalapenos, green pepper, banana pepper --- any vegetable you like can be added to your eggs to create a filling, delicious breakfast!
I, personally, tend to stay away from pancakes, waffles, french toast, cereal ... even when made "healthy" - as they can be - I, personally, don't feel good after eating them. I feel over full, tired, blah ---- starting off the day with a meal full of vegetables and healthy fats - either in a smoothie or eggs - has been my key to weight loss and energy.

Real quick ...
About me and why I started this blog ... the quick version. I am a wife and a mother - of 4. We have been married for 8 years and we have a 6 year old daughter and 3 boys ages 4, 2 and 1. I am busy. Very very busy. We all have our lives, we are all busy ... that's the world we live in. Some are busy taking care of their ailing parents, some are busy working hours that should be illegal, some are busy with their animals, some are busy with appointments and their minds are full of worry - and some are busy changing diapers and keeping kids alive - nonethless - we are all busy. It's an excuse I used for way too long. It's nothing but an excuse. You must make time for your health. I have been what is known in this world as a "yo yo dieter" for as long as I can remember. I remember being in 2nd grade and telling my friend I was on a diet. And I was a very small child - but even then - at 7 years old I thought I was fat - that or I just thought it sounded "cool" to be on a diet. Bring on the pre teen years and puberty and holy crap ... it all spiraled quickly out control. Then I got married and got pregnant - lost the weight with baby #1 fairly easily, but with each kid it got harder, and harder and finally by the last one --- it was near impossible. In the past I have done diet pills (every kind you can buy over the counter), laxatives, hollywood juice diet, high protein, vegetarian ... I did it all. And I always "failed" and I *always* felt like crap. Then I met a wonderful lady named Rachel and she introduced me to the world of "clean eating". I've been eating "clean" for about a year, but strictly for around 6 months and it has changed my life. And it's easy. And it's cheap. It's for me and my family. It's so, SO easy.
